My tulip tree is so pretty when it is in bloom and the blooms make the ground pretty when they start falling off. Kind of a two-for-one deal, I guess.
Time to dye eggs. Can you see Moses in the background? We were watching "The Ten Commandments".
We all know Shea loves to decorate cakes. I found this recipe for a peeps sunflower cake and she wanted to make it.
Peeps and Hershey's chocolate chips.
No one can resist chocolate chips when decorating a cake with them, especially Shea.

After church, we went to Aunt Suzie and Uncle Jimmy's house for an Easter egg hunt and dinner. I had to be quick to get a picture. Gemi and Sydney were in a hurry.

Charlene, you have to put money in the eggs to get the big kids to hunt. Every year we have a hunt and you ought to see Cody and Shawn fighting over eggs. Actually, last year, it was Chase and Katie digging in a gopher hole to get an egg. We take a collection from all the adults and they know that we do this each year and some have $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and one with $100 dollar bill. When I say they run, they run like they are on fire. They have to carry something to put so many eggs in. Last year Cody had a 5 gallon bucket. He didn't want to take the chance of some rolling out. They will, however, get stolen when you are running if you are not careful. If you drop them while you are running, they will immediately get grabbed up by someone else. If they all tackle each other, eggs go everywhere. I'm telling you even 28 year old Robbie runs like hell. Mother sits on the back porch and watches all her grandchildren hunting Easter eggs and we are all cracking up. We hide them very hard so to make it last and we always count the eggs first so we know how many are still missing. We usually have over 100 plastic eggs. I promise you, they will hunt until the last egg is found. They each can end up with a few hundred dollars each. Then you can hear them screaming when they are opening the eggs. It is truly hilarious. If you want to see Braeden and Zach continue hunting eggs, put money in them!!! They would hunt if they were down here. We make them all line up in a straight line and say ready, set go. Even Tara handed off Maddie to Debbie and took off. Mom was sitting at our round patio table with the umbrella up. One was directly above her head up in the umbrella. Katie was sitting there with her at the end when she couldn't find any more eggs and mother was cracking up laughing. Mom watches the adults hide the eggs and will give the kids clues if you don't shut her up. They will run back to her when they can't find some. She gets just as much out of it as they do. We have to have an adult watch them in the house while we are hiding eggs outside because they will peek out of the blinds. We caught Katie and Chase doing that this last year as well. One year it was raining and mother herself hid them in her house and said everyone could hunt. I found $100 under a towel in the front bathroom and still have it to this day in my wallet. I remember Aunt Kathy running with us that year looking as well. We love it!
