GSEL Christmas Party

GSEL invaded Ralph and Kacoo's again this year for our Christmas Party. Of course, we had a great time.Candice and her boyfriend, Brandon. Poor Brandon, this is the first time he had been around this crowd but I am happy to report, he fits right in.
Jim and his wife Kim.
Not sure where Dale was but I got a great picture of Karen, after all, she is the better half.Rick and his wife Vicky. There son Ellis worked with us for awhile until he went off to serve our country.
Dewey was all excited, he was leaving the next morning for a New Orleans Saints football game.
Michelle and her husband Tommy.
Camille was pretty excited too, she was going with Dewey to the game.
Karen, Scott, and Tommy...looks like the joke may have been on Scott by the looks on their faces.
Todd and his wife Carleigh.
James and his wife Melody. James says this is their "prom picture" pose.
Me and Grant
Tommy, Camille's brother. Although he doesn't work at the lab, he is a regular around there since he and Camille commute together from Ruston.Look, I found Dale and got him to stop to have his picture made with his wife. It's great to work at a place where you can have fun at work with your co-workers and away from work too.

Emerson Oil Christams Party

The Emerson Oil Company Christmas Party was at Tall Timber Lodge this year. I remembered my camera but forgot to check the battery so I don't have as many pictures as I would have liked.

Scott was entertaining Mr. Anglin and Venita. No telling what Scott was saying either...
Grant was aggravating Clora, as usual. Clora's husband, Bubba, is standing behind her. He has worked for Emerson a long time, longer than Grant I do believe. Chris and his wife Christy listening to Grant and Clora's nonsense.
Keith, Melissa's husband, (and my brother), Ken, Kim's husband and Glen. See Melissa peaking out around Glen???And for the last picture before my camera battery completely died...Mr. Anglin, Ann, Venita, and Mrs. Emerson talking to Natalie and William.
We had a great time, as always. Grant and I are so blessed to work with and for such wonderful people.

Christmas and Family

December 13, my mom's side of the family came to her house for the first of many Christmas gatherings we had.

My cousin Iris and her husband Kenny live in Carthage,TX. They have two sons, Kevin and Mike. Mike didn't get to make it this year.
Oh my goodness, what can I say about this c-r-a-z-y man. Ummm, let's see..., naw, I'm not even going there. This is my Uncle Clyde. He and Aunt Shirley, my mom's sister, had to put up with me while I went to NLU. I lived next door to them so I could take care of them while I was there. Oh, sorry, I meant, they took care of me... Looks like Uncle Clyde and Kenny have found something to eat.If you have ever been to my mother's house during the holidays, you know you don't have to look very hard to find food. This is just one of the goodie tables. And desserts...yum, yum Crissy, Aunt Shirley, Brett, and Donna. These two are not twins although they look likes clones of each other. They belong to my cousin Sherm and Crissy.
Zach is never shy when it comes to food. Gary is just standing back waiting his turn.Kevin and Katie with their boys. They had to leave early because Konnor wasn't feeling well, but I did get a little smile out of him.Rodney, Carol, and Michelle relaxing.Kenny and Weyland Sherm and Crissy with their kiddos, minus Breanne. I had to add this one if for no other reason so you could see the expression on Brandon's face. I'm not sure what Ellery was telling him and I'm not sure he was agreeing to what ever it was. Brittney is looking at him like she is thinking "are you really going to believe that?".
Mama's old Santa Clause has been around a really long time. I can't remember when she got it but I know she had it when John David was little. Well, John David is 30 now, so you do the math.Shea took a picture of the stockings for her, Caroline and Aaron. Mama always puts out stocking for all the grandkids but after they turn 18 they don't get one anymore. That has been a sore subject with more than one of her grandkids. Randy is such the gentleman, making Donna sit on the floor...Peace out, Shea!!I wonder what it was Caroline was wanting Sadie to do. There is only one answer to that look right there as far as I'm concerned..."Ok, Caroline, whatever you want". And don't for a minute think Caroline doesn't know that about Leenie. Great picture of Weyland and Carol.I hope you all have a great day!!

Santa comes to town

Santa made his way to Homer this year by train. The firetruck met him at the train station and brought him to the gathering. He came in town on December 12 to make sure all the boys and girls got to see him before Christmas.

There were booths set up by different organizations. Although it was COLD and raining, there was a pretty good turn-out. I helped April with the booth for our children's program at church. Here she is serving up the hot dogs and chili pies. I can't tell you how much April has done for our children's ministry at church and what a blessing she has been. She is great and very dedicated to the cause.Santa finally made it and this little girl couldn't even wait for him to get out of the firetruck before she went running to him. She just wanted to give Santa a big ol' hug. Too cute!!This is the very first year Shea has sat in Santa's lap. In the past, we would wait in line to see him and then just before it was her turn, she changed her mind. She hopped right up there and began telling him ALL that she wanted. One last picture with Santa.

This is another blessing in our community. Dr. Pat Bates has started the "Seeds of Light" ministry. They had a booth set up where they were giving the children toys that were made by the inmates at Wade Correctional Center. They had wooden cars, wooden ducks, and wooden baby beds complete with baby dolls made by some of the women in our community.Dr. Pat and one of her helpers were serving up cake. It was a birthday cake for Jesus.Christmas was just around the corner and by this time Shea was getting really excited and she was so proud of herself for not being afraid of Santa anymore.

Thankful for Family!!

Here it is January 11, 2010 and I am just now posting Thanksgiving Day pictures. Yep, I'm a little behind so I decided I would start trying to catch up. So, here we go...

We spend Thanksgiving at Suzanne and Jimmy's house every year and this year was no exception. Mr. Atkins has joined us for the last several years. Papaw was enjoying a conversation with him.Grant fried two turkeys this year. Jimmy usually fries one but with all the construction going on at the Williams house he just didn't have time this year. But he didn't miss out on all the fun, we let him do the carving. Grant was right there with him...watching. One of the best things about having dinner at their house is that we also get to enjoy the company of Jimmy's family. I consider all the Williams family my in-laws. This is Jimmy's brother, Butch, in the blue shirt, and his wife, Ki.These are some of my favorite women. Suzanne, holding baby Gemi, Mama Rene, Jimmy's mother, and my beautiful mother-in-law, Mamaw Ruth.Shea loves it when there are girls around to play with. She had so much fun with Julia. Her dad, Trey, is Butch's oldest son.And little Gemi is always cheezin' for the camera now. Ask her to smile and this is what you get...cuteness beyond belief. After lunch we just sit around and visit. It's always fun hanging out with the Williams bunch and I am so thankful for the family I married into.
