Santa made his way to Homer this year by train. The firetruck met him at the train station and brought him to the gathering. He came in town on December 12 to make sure all the boys and girls got to see him before Christmas.
There were booths set up by different organizations. Although it was COLD and raining, there was a pretty good turn-out. I helped April with the booth for our children's program at church. Here she is serving up the hot dogs and chili pies. I can't tell you how much April has done for our children's ministry at church and what a blessing she has been. She is great and very dedicated to the cause.
Santa finally made it and this little girl couldn't even wait for him to get out of the firetruck before she went running to him. She just wanted to give Santa a big ol' hug. Too cute!!
This is the very first year Shea has sat in Santa's lap. In the past, we would wait in line to see him and then just before it was her turn, she changed her mind. She hopped right up there and began telling him ALL that she wanted.

They had a booth set up where they were giving the children toys that were made by the inmates at Wade Correctional Center. They had wooden cars, wooden ducks, and wooden baby beds complete with baby dolls made by some of the women in our community.
Dr. Pat and one of her helpers were serving up cake. It was a birthday cake for Jesus.
Christmas was just around the corner and by this time Shea was getting really excited and she was so proud of herself for not being afraid of Santa anymore.
