This is our 2008 Christmas tree, which looks pretty much like our 2007 tree, our 2006 tree, our 2005 tree, you get the idea. We add at least one or two new ornaments a year on the tree.
Look at this cute little reindeer. Kacie gave this to us for Christmas. Her mom, Kathleen made it.
Kacie came out on the 23rd to open her presents. She spent Christmas with her sisters and aunt in south Louisiana.
Zach, Shea, Kacie and little Ginger.
We always spend Christmas Eve with Grant's family at his mom and dad's house. This is a picture of Mamaw Ruth and Papaw with all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Braeden is tired of pictures already.
Shea and Kaleigh. They have become good buddies.
Who is this motley crew you ask? Jimmy, Zach and Grant. Although they looked like they were up to something they behaved very well. Santa was scheduled to come later that night remember.
Jay and Christin opening their presents.
Grant's sister, Suzanne, with two of her granddaughters, Kaleigh and Sydney. And her only grandson, Braeden.
Shea loved the sign JenJen and Marc gave her.
Marc and Jennifer.
Zach and Mamaw looking at the scrapbook I made for her for Christmas. I think she really liked it, I know it was fun making it.
Do we have some pretty nieces or what. This is Christin and Jennifer.
Jay and Papaw.
Of course Shea and Zach were up around 7AM. Very unusual for either one of them on a regular day. But you know, we had to see if Santa came to our house. It was questionable as to whether he would actually make it or not.
WOW, it's a Christmas miracle, he did come to our house.
Zach got a new rocket. The last one he shot went so far up he lost it. He thinks it may be in orbit.
Shea finally got the lava lamp she has been wanting. This is 2008, right?
I am so glad Santa brought Zach this car detailing kit. My car is really, really dirty.
A Nintendo DS is all Shea ask for in the letter she wrote to Santa. He brought her a pink one of course. Now just because she only asked for one thing in the letter, don't for a minute think that is all she wanted.
Zach's new red jacket.
Shea got a doll named Shea. I was all done buying for her when I ran across this doll named Shea. Well, I just had to buy it. Wouldn't you have done the same thing? Just to let you know, after she opened it and started playing with it she renamed it Jennie. Go figure! Guess there isn't enough room in this house for two Sheas.
Daddy finally opened the present Shea got him. This was a special request from Shea. She knew exactly what she wanted to get Daddy. A pair of boxers that looks like Santa's suit and some nose hair trimmers. Now that is funny.
And since no one in my house obviously knows how to use a camera besides me, I had to take a picture of one of my Christmas presents. This necklace matches the ring Grant got me last year. He did pretty darn good I think.
I was wanting a picture of Zach and Shea in front of the Christmas tree before we opened gifts. I thought about it as we started cleaning up the wrapping paper. Oh well, before, after, does it really matter, guess not.
So, later Christmas day, off to Grandmother's house we go. There was even a horse and sleigh. Really I have pictures, see.
Yea, I know, you might be a redneck if you use a cow feeder for a sleigh.
Kenneth and Sue got this huge Clydesdale a couple of weeks ago. His name is Frank.
This is me, my mom and all my brothers. Now that is a crew isn't it. Only one missing, I sure do miss my Daddy. Though it's pretty awesome to think he is celebrating Jesus' birthday with Him.
Weyland and his family. Carol, Caroline, Aaron, and Weyland on the front. John David, Jennifer, and Rodney in back. Mary Kate and Tom were not able to come in this Christmas. They live in Florida which makes it a little difficult to get home each year. We missed you Mary Kate and Tom. Maybe next Christmas.
Me and my family. Charlene, Shea, and Grant with Zach in back.
After pictures and presents, time for some volleyball, hackeysack (I have no idea if this is spelled right) and horseback riding.
Now here is another picture I had to post because John David will never let me take a picture of him without his tongue stuck out. I finally got one. I thought I was going to have to whip him to get it though.
Oh, look one more, another Christmas miracle.
Grant resting, trying to digest all that food.
I saved this picture until last. This is the most exciting news from this Christmas. Jason finally gave April an engagement ring and she accepted it (not that I had any doubt she would). We are all so excited, I do love me some April Hightower. Best of all, she loves my Jason and he loves her.
After this long post and all these pictures of my family do I really have to explain any further why I love Christmas? I hope you all had a blessed Christmas like I did.
